| The Spring of 1999 brought with it an exciting
new toy: Q3Test. This was id
software's online open beta test for Quake 3: Arena. Having
become hopelessly addicted to the Quake series of games, +Lost
was eager to bring the Nomads into this fast-paced new game. |

| While a few of the AW 'Mads came along for the ride, Clan
Nomads (or Section Eight, as they were originally called)
was made up of mostly new faces. Amazingly, it turned out
that were quite a few demented people out there playing Q3
and the Nomads maanged to scoop them all up. Rocket launchers
and railguns replaced the airplanes and swords, but the tradition
stayed the same. |

Capture the Flag was the game type of choice
as it brought a great mixture of action and strategy. Always
eager for a challenge, the clan entered several ladders
and leagues, compiling a decent record, but more importantly,
having a blast along the way. Over 5 years later, Clan Nomads
is still going strong. Quake 3 is falling by the wayside,
but the friendships that were made will trancend into the
next Nomadic adventure. |
